Are photos required, and does anyone need an app?

No — this wall is made of words, so it sends without a single picture. If you do want them, the photo step takes yours and the first six appear as a strip of warm frames above the wall; skip it and the page brings its own. Nobody installs anything on the other side: everyone opens the same link in the browser already on their phone. The wall opens by holding the medallion until the flame catches, Enter or the space bar does the same on a keyboard, and if the phone has reduced motion switched on the doors simply open.

How do the answers get back to me?

The wall ends with a question. Keep the built-in one — three short replies picked to fit the occasion, from “Raising a glass” to “Get well soon” — or write your own in the questions step: a single choice, several at once, or a few lines of free text. Everyone who opens your link answers into the same Giftable, so the replies reach you one after another, and the final screen also offers to send the same line to you on WhatsApp or Telegram. Does everyone who signs need an account, and do their wishes reach me?

Nobody signs up for anything: a person opens the link, types a line, taps “Light my lamp” and their lamp joins the wall. The honest limit is where that lamp then lives — it travels inside the link that the “Pass the wall on” button builds, not in a database of ours. So send the wall around the group first and let the last person hand the finished link to whoever you are celebrating; a lamp lit after that stays on the phone that lit it. What always comes back to you is each person’s answer to the closing question.
