How many photos does it take, and does anyone have to install an app?

Photos are required for this format, so you cannot finish the issue without at least one, and you can add up to twelve. The first runs on the front page under the headline; the rest are spread evenly down the chronicle, one beside a year. Whoever you send it to pulls the bow and reads it in a browser, on a phone or a laptop — no app, no account.

How does the person reply, and where does the answer go?

The issue ends with a reply coupon: one question with three answers, worded for the occasion — for a birthday issue they are “Coming to hug you”, “Raising a toast” and “Moved to tears”. You can replace it with your own questions before sending. The answer comes back to you as a reply on your Giftable. Can I write the years and the milestones myself?

Not in the builder. The chronicle’s years and their lines come with the format and follow the occasion you pick — a fortieth birthday, a couple’s then and now, a first month together, a family reunion — and so do the joke columns on the front page, the weather and the exchange rates. What you set is the names, the message, the photos and the coupon question. This format has no date or place field, so an invitation to the party belongs inside your message.
