When should a save the date go out, and does it replace the invitation?
Four to six months before the wedding, and nearer six for a destination wedding or a holiday weekend so people can book flights. It does not replace the invitation: this page carries the date, the place and the countdown, and the full timings arrive later. Guests can answer already, which is the point - you learn early who is even likely to come.
Where do the answers land, and can we ask our own question?
A guest taps "I'm in", "Let me think" or "Can't make it" and the answer comes back to you on the giftable, with an email for the first ones. You can replace those three with up to five questions of your own - one choice, several, or free text up to 240 characters. It collects answers, not a guest list: no seating chart, no plus-one limits, no automatic reminders.
Do we need photos this early?
