Does knocking start a video call, and do I need a photo?

Knocking opens the page; it does not start a call or turn on a camera. Arrange the call in the app you normally use. The Giftable link opens in a browser. A photo is optional: without one there is a parcel illustration; with one, the first photo clears when the page’s status is Delivered.

How do I send a time suggestion and get their answer?

Is the countdown a delivery promise from InPost or DHL?

No. It uses an estimated arrival; without one, the page says “Very soon” instead of counting down. InPost supports live status updates, while DHL needs a configured API key. Without live data, the sender’s status and estimate are used; other carriers use those details and a tracking link when supplied. Your proposed opening time is separate from the delivery estimate.
