Are photos required, and does anyone have to install an app?

Photos are optional in this format. Add them and the first six become the film strip inside the capsule, each one captioned; leave them out and the capsule fills with the Gifty illustrations drawn for that milestone — the cake, the whole crowd, the graduation, the road ahead. Whoever you send it to opens a browser link on a phone or a laptop: no app, no account, nothing to download.

How does the recipient reply, and where does the answer go?

After the cards comes the question “What do you want to tell the person who packed this capsule?”, with three ready answers written for that milestone — and you can swap in your own questions before sending. The reply comes back to you on your Giftable, and they can also forward it straight to you on WhatsApp or Telegram. Building the capsule and previewing all of it is free; sending one Giftable costs €3, three cost €5 and ten cost €10.

Does the date keep the capsule locked until that day?

No. The date you set runs across the ticker as “DO NOT OPEN BEFORE” and sits as a chip beside the headline, but nothing is actually locked: the link opens the moment it is tapped, so send it on the day you want it opened. The cards inside work the same way — they are the set written for the milestone you picked, not empty slots for relatives to fill. Your own words go into the message, up to 600 characters. That is the trade against a vault that unlocks itself: nothing is hidden from you either, and what they type inside the capsule comes back to you.
